VOICES is a community coalition funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), established for the purpose of assisting communities within the six counties served to develop policies, procedures and activities to prevent youth from using alcohol, drugs and tobacco. The VOICES Coalition serves the following counties: Crosby, Lynn, Dickens, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, and Terry.
Because each community has different issues that need to be addressed, VOICES is actively seeking volunteers from each community in these counties. Local volunteers are able to identify and understand the issues of their community, as well as being able to offer specific solutions that would work best for their community. As a member, you will have the opportunity to be actively involved in making changes in your community, as well as attending prevention conferences in Lubbock and Austin.
