Volunteers Offering Involvement in Communities to Expand Services [VOICES]

Services Include

Schools and communities nationwide are being faced with the never-ending - and growing - threat of alcohol, drug, and tobacco use and abuse in our youth.

VOICES is a community coalition funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS), established for the purpose of assisting communities within the six counties served to develop policies, procedures and activities to prevent youth from using alcohol, drugs and tobacco. VOICES serves the following counties: Crosby, Dickens, Hale, Hockley, Lubbock, and Terry.

Because each community has different issues that need to be addressed, VOICES is actively seeking volunteers from each community in these counties. Local volunteers see and understand the issues of their community, as well as being able to offer specific solutions that would work best for their city. As a member, you will have the opportunity to be actively involved in making changes in your community, as well as attending all-expense paid prevention conferences in Lubbock and Austin.
