The MCC Detoxification Unit was established to provide medical detoxification services for individuals seeking help in withdrawing from drugs, alcohol, inhalants and other chemicals. Individuals found in need of detoxification services are admitted 16 hours a day on a referral or emergency basis. A three to five day detoxification allows medical staff to safely monitor, in comfortable surroundings, individuals withdrawing from various chemicals and prepare them for further treatment services.
Upon admission clients are given a physical exam and TB test. Then they are oriented to the facility and the disease concept of addiction. Daily programs, meditation, and Big Book studies are all a part of this AA based program.
Clients and family members have personal and confidential access to professional counselors for a thorough evaluation of the nature and extent of the presenting problem. Thorough Evaluation by qualified credentialed counselors is vital and affects all aspects of appropriate care. Through the screening and evaluation process referral can be made to the appropriate level of service. Counselors are trained in identifying and addressing substance abuse and other issues.
