Pregnant/Post-Partum Intervention: Project HOPE
Project HOPE is a program designed to intervene with the substance use/ abuse of pregnant and post-partum adult and adolescent women.
Project HOPE's Mission
The mission of Project HOPE is to reduce the incidence of drug exposure to unborn and young children and to facilitate a healthy lifestyle for all participants. The program coordinates services with other agencies to promote health and well-being of the individual and their family.
Project HOPE services:
- Substance Abuse Screening and Assessment.
- Counseling Services to address gender-specific issues including relationships, parenting and abuse issues.
- Coordination of services for primary medical care including reproductive health care, prenatal and postnatal care, and pediatric care.
- Children's Services that include counseling and childcare.
- Case Management to identify needs to include housing, transportation, medical, mental health, financial, legal and other concerns. Referral and follow-up ensures a continuum of care.
- Education including reproductive health, fetal/child development, parenting, family violence and safety.
- Alternative Activities are offered through arts and crafts, picnics, trips to museums, libraries and parks for participants in an effort to address and support social skills and needs.
