Mission –
To empower communities to create positive changes in attitudes, behaviors and policies to prevent and reduce at-risk behaviors in people of all ages with a unified focus on alcohol, marijuana and prescription drugs.
Vision –
Community members uniting to create a safe environment for families to nurture and protect youth and adults through education, awareness, and prevention activities.
Who is VOICES?
VOICES (Volunteers Offering Involvement in Communities to Expand Services) is a community coalition funded by the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) that is comprised of people concerned about how young people in Hockly County, Texas use and abuse addictive substances.  Our coalition exists for the purpose of assisting Hockley County communities in developing policies, procedures, and activities to prevent youth from using alcohol, marijuana, and prescription drugs.  We are actively seeking community-minded people to serve our coalition.
Members have the opportunity to:
Advocate for community needs that relate to substance abuse and chemical dependency issues among Hockley County youth.
Provide support to change/implement local policies and ordinances.
Participate in various prevention conferences statewide.
